In 2019, 15.2% of the total youth workforce was unemployed in the EU. At the same time, the number of young people between the ages of 20 and 34 who are neither in employment nor in education and training is also high: 16.5% (Eurostat, 2018).
Therefore, attracting young people to VET is of crucial importance in the EU. However, VET suffers from a bad reputation and lack of popularity among young people.
Let's Campaign aims to improve the image of VET in the eyes of young people and their families and aims to meet the high demand for highly-skilled workers.
The purpose of the project is to stimulate dialogue and exchange of innovative ideas to understand how to address the lack of interest and attractiveness of VET for those young people who are planning to leave school or are neither in employment nor in education and training .
During the project, the partners will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices to achieve the following objectives:
-
Increase the number of students in VET systems.
-
Raise young people's awareness of career opportunities in VET centers
-
Increase the productivity and competitiveness of the VET sector to reduce the unemployment rate.
-
Improve cross-border cooperation and mobility of students and trainees.
At the end of the project, a manual will be prepared that will include good practices and proposals
